Our Newest Arrival!!!! and Easter!

We got to celebrate Easter before our new baby came, like literally the day before he came ha ha. The girls always LOVE to get dressed up in Easter dresses and have their hair done all pretty. Although I am amazed we got them all looking at the same time! Thanks to my cousin they got to color Easter eggs, I was feeling quite exhausted being pregnant so Alyssa came over to help the girls color eggs.
THE EASTER BUNNY OFFICIALLY CAME!!
This kid ate so much sugar that I swear, she is still on a sugar high to this day! She loved every minute of it though.

INTRODUCING:
CONNOR JOHN RUNIA
He was born on April 5th at 4:09 pm, weighing 7lbs 5oz and was 21" long.
HIS BIRTH STORY
So at the end of my pregnancy we started trying everything to get him to come, but nothing was working. Not only would it not work I wouldn't even get any extra contractions or anything, no change basically. We had an inside joke that he could hear all those sisters and so he was hanging on by his toes to my ribs cause he wasn't gonna come out with all that chaos ha ha. Finally I had a Dr. appointment on Friday the 2nd where I asked to be induced, I mean my due date was on Monday, so they scheduled me for my due date to be induced, which worked out well, so we could celebrate Easter with the fam before he came. So with the induction I was told they would call me in the morning to tell me when they wanted me to come. The girls slept over at grandma's cause we didn't know when they would call. They called at around 6 am asking if we could be there at 7:15. So we get there and they finally got me started around 9 am with the pitocin. When I got there I was dialated to a 3 and was around 65% effaced. So around 11 there hadn't been much change I was like 85% effaced and dialated to a 3 1/2, they told me that the anesthesiologist was going to be doing a c-section at around 12 so I didn't want to end up waiting around for the epidural so I said I may as well get it now while he is around and available. So we got that and then it was the waiting game. The epidural started to ware off around 2 I think, so they had to come fix that which was soo much better. Then more waiting, I ended up on oxygen cause the baby's heart rate was all over the place with each contraction. At 3:00 I was all the way effaced and only dialated to like a 6, however the head was low. I thought it was going to take FOREVER! At that point it had taken me 6 hours to dialate 3 cm. Anyway, at 3:30 I had a lot of pressure and I was complete, so although the first 3 cm took 6 hours the last 4 cm took a half hour. I just have to say thank heaven for epidurals! I was ready to push but of course had to wait for the Dr. she got there, I remember at 4:05 and he was out at 4:09, there was not a lot of pushing ha ha. He came out and the chord was wrapped around his neck which would explain the sporadic heart rate. We also had to have the NICU team there because there was meconium that came out when my water broke. That was kinda scary, instead of suctioning the baby and then setting the baby on my stomach after he was born, they took this baby who was not breathing yet immediately to the NICU team who then proceeded to shove a tube down his throat to suction him out. I do remember being suprised when he only weighed 7lbs 5 oz, we were all expecting this 9-10 lb monster to come out, I mean Jayda was 8lbs 10oz and was a week early! I was happy he was smaller though, much easier for me ha ha. Everything turned out to be just fine with him. I was fine and ready to eat! So that is the birth story not to bad with minimal complications.
We love him, he is a really easy going baby. He only cries when he is hungry, getting his diaper changed and during his baths. I have never seen a baby cry in horror as bad as he does when getting their bath, it has not changed since he was born, usually they start getting used to the baths but he HATES them with a passion. I find myself only giving him a bath every other day instead of every day so I don't have to watch the look of horror that comes on his face(yes I know, I do give my infants baths everyday, even though they tell you they don't need them, I beg to differ, they poop all over the place plus spit up all over themselves everyday).
This was right after he was born when they finally let us hold him.

He is such a proud daddy!

Look at the super cute hats they have for newborns at the hospital. I guess they have volunteers that make them and bows for the girls.

We have some VERY excited sisters and grandma. The sisters love to smother him especially Nyah.

Jayda loves him, but she is more interested in mommy still, as long as she gets the attention she wants she is pretty good. I love that she likes to cuddle, that's where she wanted to be every time they came to visit us in the hospital.

Family of 6. . .we must be crazy!

Three generations of Runia boys!! It took us quite a while to get that Runia grandson but he finally made it!
There was a cute nurse who made that card for him to put in his bed and he got another cute hat. I really have liked this hospital.
That was his going home outfit.
Right after bath time! He will instantly stop crying once he has a towel wrapped around him. Love this little guy!

His froggy towel, I LOVE it. Our little froggy.

I just liked this picture so I added it, so cute.
So there ya have it, that is our little guy! I just got done taking his 2 week pictures last week, so when I get them down loaded I will add them, they turned out super cute! Plus I have picts of his room that also turned out super cute!! So stay tuned for more picts.

"JAYDA! WHAT THE. . . ."

So this is definitely one of those moments when you have two choices. . .cry, or laugh and take a picture. . . .

This is what Jayda did on Tuesday, I was getting some things done in the baby's room in preparation for his arrival and all of the sudden Jayda peeks her head around the corner looking like she does in the picture with a big grin on her face. I was shocked! Not even knowing what could possibly be on her face, I was like "Jayda! what is that?!" I didn't expect a reply I was just at a loss for words, but she spoke up saying "stick, stick" I then went downstairs with her, which is where she was, I was also watching her little friend, Tylie and those to are quite a pair, so I knew Tylie would have helped her out on this lovely art project, I knew Jayda, headed it up, getting the lipstick out of my bathroom drawer. So coming down the stairs to find Tylie and the lipstick I see my wall and was like "are you kidding me!" Jayda was quite proud of her creation, she kept on smiling and asking "whats wrong mom?" I would try to be stern with them telling them "no, no we don't do that" they would just look at me and smile then I would have to fight a smile, little buggers know how to work it.

So, as you can see Jayda was the worst off.

I was worried how I was going to get this off their faces and the wall seeing as lipstick is fairly greasy. I had to use make-up remover for their faces, luckily I had these pre-moistened face washing cloths that worked great! I also had this spray for the wall that happened to have a de-greaser in it and it came right off.

Unfortunately this is not the first time these two have done a lipstick massacre and they both are horrible about coloring on the walls around the house. We keep all the markers, crayons, pens, pencils, etc hidden for these events. I have resorted to just letting her color with her aqua doodle for now. I sure hope she grows out of this soon, I don't think my walls can take it.

St. Patricks Day

We enjoyed our St. Patricks Day, Nyah was talking about for a while before it happened. At her school they have a strict dress code, so they couldn't "wear" green clothes but they could do things to their hair, etc. We decided to color Ny's hair in front green with a shamrock on her face and she was so excited to go to school like this.We made sure we all wore green, the younger girls even got green Mac n' Cheese for lunch, which Keira was very leery of, but she did eat it, so I guess it wasn't to bad for her. Keira had seen Nyah and told me "mom, I don't want my hair colored", she then insisted on having an alligator on her face. An alligator Keira? Really? She even drew one herself on paper to show me how she wanted it. I must say no one can accuse this child of going with the "crowd" she definitely thinks outside the box.

Out of my kids mouths!!

Nyah:
So, in Nyah's class at school she has been talking about a boy that has been sick, which I am thinking colds, flu's, etc. Well, the other day she tells me that someone came to speak with her class about this kid and that he has a "brain something" she is talking about how sick he is and I am thinking what it is she is talking about so I ask, "do you mean a brain tumor?" and she is like "ya!" Then she goes on to tell me it makes him really tired and sick all the time, and that he won't be coming to school very often, then out of the blue she says "and mom. . .I think I have it, do you remember when I was so tired last night and I woke up feeling sick" I then had to explain to her that brain tumors were not contagious and that she in fact did not have one and that this is not common for kids to get. How do you explain to a 7 year old the difference between simply getting sick with colds, etc and chronic illness'?

Keira:
So the other day I was sitting with Keira and she was talking about how I was sick with a cough, etc, and I was saying how she had a cough and was sick as well, she looked at me and said "mom, did you swallow a bug?" and I said "I guess I did, did you swallow a bug?" she looks at me and says "no, I swallowed a spider!" to which Jared asks "did it wiggle and tickle inside you?" and she says "no, it's scratching my skeleton!" I LOVE this kid she CRACKS me up! She is definitely an out of the box type of thinker just the mere fact she says skeleton instead of saying bones like most other kids, is funny. You just never know what will come out of her mouth.

Christmas & New Years LOTS of pics!

This year we where busy during Christmas, but we had a lot of fun. . .
We got to see Santa
I love this picture of Keira and him

Jayda was not impressed, just enough to take the candy cane
We built snowmen. She did this all by herself complete with a string cheese nose!
Of course there was a Gingerbread House which ended with sugar highs for all of us. MMMMM frosting is good!
Here they are "helping" daddy
We got to go to Nyah school performance where they sang fun Christmas songs.
Decorating cookies is a must. Jayda really got into it this year, it was so cute
Nyah did her tumbling performance and she was in HEAVEN! She could not wait to perform on a stage in front of everyone. She definitely did NOT get that from me.
So notice the size difference, sad to say that they are wearing the same size outfit here. Kailee's is a little big, but poor Nyah is to skinny to wear her actual size they all drowned her. Who has that happen to them, seriously usually leotards and gymnastics outfits are always snug, but Nyah will probably be forever skinny.
We went to temple square a couple different times. Here is the time we went with some friends and it was a lot of fun and crazy trying to keep track of kids.
Of course there was Christmas dresses, we got off easy this year. Keira and Jayda are wearing hand me downs and Nyah's was on the clearance rack, lucky for me that was my first choice and they had her size.
We recreated the nativity, with apparently 2 Mary's, although she says she was Mary's "friend" It was quite funny to watch the kids do their part, it was especially funny when our two mules started having push-up contests with the girls on their backs!
Santa mad his visit to our house, of course. Notice the Christmas tree? It's new this year, I wanted a pre-lit tree and I went with my friend Becky again to the "Black Friday" shopping and ended up getting that tree for $60, it was normally $279 so that was an awesome deal! We got other good deals as well. It is so much fun to do, I never dared go before but I have these last two years and it is so much fun! Not to mention the good deals!
Here is Ny's reaction to seeing that Santa came.
Here starts the present frenzy
Jayda was actually into it this year and wanted to open presents so that was good. Notice the dragon to the left?
Yes, the dragon is Keira, she LOVES these ugly costumes and wears them all the time, not that we have any but she always wants them, so I found some for her after Halloween for about $2 each, talk about good deals. This is what she looked like all day on Christmas, it was so funny, notice the giant head stuffed animals she is holding? That was the other gift she has been asking for since like September, they are named "Lulu" and "Tolee" they are from this cartoon on Nickelodeon called Kai-Lan, she never asks for the girl on their Kai-Lan, just all the animals. They are so weird looking, but hey who am I to argue with what she wants.
Here is the girls pj's that they get every year.
NEW YEARS 2010!
It was a blast, hanging out with everyone, here is all the girls.

Kiki didn't make it to midnight, what was funny is that she slept through all the chaos, us screaming "Happy New Year", the kids with the noise makers, the loud talking and laughing, not only did she sleep through it she did even move. Both Nyah and Jayda did make to New Years though.
Ready to count down.
We of course had to do our Karaoke
We played this game where you have to stick a quarter in your butt cheeks walk across the room and drop it in a cup, it was so funny watching everyone attempting this.

We had a lot of fun throughout all of the Christmas festivities and New Years! It turned out to be a nice and relaxing Christmas, we especially enjoyed the week between Christmas and New Years, we got to sleep in and just relax and do nothing. The only mishap was sick kids they all came down with the stomach bug, Ny started by throwing up on the 22nd and the Jayda got it on Christmas eve and hers was the worst she was up every half hour throwing up and only wanted mom to hold her. She went through about 3 pairs of pj's and 3 blankets we finally tried to have towels handy. She finally settled at about midnight and on Christmas she was over it and happy thank heavens. Then Keira got the week between Christmas and New Years. So that wasn't so fun but they all got over it quickly and it didn't spread beyond them. Anyway I hope everyone had a lot of fun for Christmas, until next year. . .well I guess that would be this year ha ha.

Poor Accident Prone Nyah

Notice the scrapes on her forehead and nose and of course the lip.
My poor accident prone Ny. So, this actually happened the week before Halloween, I get a call from the school saying that Nyah fell and hit her nose, it was bleeding and she was upset. Now, with Nyah, she has a Runia trait of getting bloody noses VERY easily. Her friend once hit her in the face with a stuffed animal and it caused a bloody nose. Now with this comes A LOT of blood all over it just gushes out. So anyway all I knew is there was a bloody nose and that was it. So, I go to the school to get her and take a look at the rest of her face (mostly her lip) and realize it's not just a bloody nose, which has stopped thank heavens but her coat has blood all over and she is still crying and upset. I then ask what happened cause she looked AWFUL and she said she tripped on the black top and fell hitting her face on the ground. I am thinking, "you didn't stop yourself with your hands?" Not to mention the black top has nothing to trip on. So basically she tripped on the flat ground and face planted without putting her hands out to stop herself. Her lip was so big she could barely talk, it was sad and that day we had to give her soft foods to eat seeing as her teeth were hurting as well. This poor uncoordinated child, I feel bad for her "accidents" which are frequent, she is VERY clumsy, hence the nickname Bella junior (any Twilight fans know exactly what I am referring to).
